Great selection of photos … they really do create the feel of a quiet Sunday arvo. I’m impressed by your spotlessly clean floor, Dirty Girl. It’s clean enough for the pups to see their own reflection … nice shot!

I’m wondering what the pretty yellow flower is in the final photo.

It looks very much like a plant we call Dandelion (Taraxacum). Considered by many gardeners to be a pernicious weed, though actually very valuable as a herb, which is doubtless the reason why you allow it to grow.

Wiki says ‘a cup of dandelion leaves contains 112% daily recommendation of vitamin A, 32% of vitamin C, and 535% of vitamin K and 218 mg potassium, 103 mg calcium, and 1.7 mg of iron. Dandelions are also an excellent source of vitamin H, which aids weight loss’.

    It’s better than spinach.

    Great pictures! Especially the pup!

Bernich: Thanks! But the floor really isn’t very clean – dog hair is a constant.

Robur: You’re right it’s a dandelion. They sprouted up next to the nepeta and are gorgeous. Plus, I love eating the leaves in salad. Dandelion leaves are truly great for a hang over!

Laura: Thanks! The big pup = Sprout and the wee one = Patootie.

The floor is definitely squeaky clean …. Even the dogs are scared to run about, so they decide to behave well and take a quiet nap….. ~bangchik

I don’t know about them dandelions… I’ve tried the leaves on occasion and find them way too bitter, even young. I will throw a head or two into a teapot though.

  7. Awww…your sleepy Sprout looks like he has Sundays all figured out. Smart puppy :)

  8. Jenn says:

Tatiana – if they are grown in the shade they are usually better… if all else fails pour some great dressing on them. It defeats the purpose of any calorie watching – but is still great as an organ and skin cleanse.

Bankchik – they had just gone for a long hike… “scared to run about” is so not in their vocabulary!

CVF – Yes, Sprout likes sleepy sundays, sleepy monday, sleepy tuesdays, sleepy wednesdays…..

  9. Love the pups, Sprout and Patootie. Good names! Dogs know just how to relax.
