I’m one of those sick bastard gardener’s who thinks snail and slugs are cute… I generally don’t like to kill them. But on the rare chance my anger gets the better of me and I toss them in the street, I like to pretend they are flying through the air onto a bed of clouds to all gather at a snail festival and eat cotton candy. Or something like that…
I feel the same way about snails. As I snap photos of them crossing my garden path, I remember one of my “grandmas” squashing them with the heel of her boot or simply throwing them in her spittoon where they were left to rot. Not the best way to say goodbye to this world.
and wanting to change that for myself and many others….just wondering what your inspiration was early on, or your story that got you into gardening? I really want to make a big impression on people and teach other people what i learn through the experience and hold open forums out in my local community and educate people after I’ve crossed a couple of bounds and leaps//
I remember when my grandma would see a snail in her garden, comment on how gross it was, and then smash the shelled slug with her shoe. “Gross” is contextual, right?
Very cute!
he was really going fast on that second pic
Is that motion blur I’m seeing in the second pick? That’s one speedy little snail!

What a cool shot, although it probably didn’t fall off and into the void like they all should.
